The DC-3

Known for its impressive service as the premier civilian and military transport aircraft. It was a commercial aviation titan for its time. The leading aircraft for airlines and carriers in the 1940s and 50s. In World War Two the DC-3's military variant the C-47 played a vital role being a trooper carrier aircraft during the D-Day Invasion of 1944.

The DC-3 that we primarily use for training is tail number "NC33644". It flew for Western Airlines and was based in Salt Lake City, Utah. It flew all over the Western half of the United States for passenger service. While flying for Western, it flew under the ship number "102"

1,200 Horse Power
These engines were the most mass produced
engines in World War Two. Used on aircraft such as the B-24, C-47, Grumman F4F Wildcat and the PBY Catalina.

Avionics
N33644 is equipped with modern avionics including
GI-275s, Garmin GTN-750, and a backup GNS-530.
